This position is part of Static Mechanical Department. We have the responsibility for piping and static mechanical equipment in Aker BP. We are organized under the Engineering organization in Operations.
The main purpose of your role is to ensure safe design and operation of piping systems and static process equipment at Aker BP's facilities. You will work on design criteria as well as maintenance/inspection regarding piping vibration, piping stress and fatigue across operations and projects. You will report to Operations Managers for Static Mechanical.
In this role, you will be Aker BP's expert in piping and static equipment vibration.
Typical work tasks can be:
- Assessments of risks related to fatigue on piping and static process equipment.
- Close cooperation with our Integrity Department with regards to inspections and risk assessments.
- Ensure that interfaces towards other disciplines are handled in an efficient way.
- Follow-up, advising and ensuring design and equipment is according to requirements and standards.
- Conduct internal training of colleagues in the field of expertise.
Skills and qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree within Mechanical, Piping or similar.
- Minimum 8 years' experience within piping, pipe stress, piping vibration analysis and design.
- Relevant extensive experience can compensate for education.
- Experience with start-up and offshore operations.
- Detail knowledge of design codes, design criteria, guidelines, and relevant standards (EI AVIFF, ASME, NORSOK etc.).
- Detailed knowledge of piping vibration analysis, monitoring, inspection, and assessment.
- Some offshore travel can be expected.
- Fluent abilities in English, desirable good abilities in Norwegian, both verbal and written.
