Our client is in need of Tender and Project Manager for a 12 months project in Oslo. Their global vision is to electrify the future, and his means designing and fabrication the worlds’ best cables and delivering EPCI turnkey projects anywhere in the world. In addition, they have the best tools, equipment and people with competence and skillset to install and service those cables.

The Purchasing team is responsible for managing and coordinating all purchasing-related activities for the Business Group. You, as the Tender Subcontracting Manager will be part of this new department within the Purchasing Organization and will be responsible for managing and coordinating all Subcontracting (purchasing) related activities in the client tender phase until an execution team has been appointed. The workplace is in Oslo and you will be reporting to the Head of Tender Subcontracting team.

Your role and responsibilites 
You will work in the Project Purchasing team as a Tender and Project Purchasing Manager with focus on managing and coordinating all Subcontracting (purchasing) related activities in the client tender phase until project execution starts. To do this, you will:

  • Develop the costing and procurement plan of the Tenders you have been allocated
  • Have the responsibility of the large subcontracts to be dealt with at tender stage until LOI or subcontract signature, or until handover to Project Execution
  • Act as single point of contact (Key Account Managers) for main subcontractors
  • Handle 2 – 3 tenders / subcontracts simultaneously
  • Work on establishing relationships through arranging regular management meetings between companies with in the background the follow-up of the subcontractor’s performance in the project execution but also prospective opportunities (framework agreements, JVs, Consortium, etc.) linked to the clients subcontracted scopes across tenders and projects
  • Together with Sales and Tender as well as Installation department consider partnerships, JVs and other forms of collaboration with main subcontractors to secure G&T’s tender’s risk and profitability profiles.

With you being a team player and collaborating with other Purchasing functions and internal stakeholders, you will ensure the implementation of subcontracting strategies and full ownership of your tenders. In addition, you will be comfortable contributing to the Subcontracting Strategy with subcontractor market evaluation. You may also participate in developing efficiencies and take part in improvements relevant to our department. You boost your impact by actively promoting Quality and HSE. 

Who are you?
To succeed as a Tender and Project Purchasing Manager, you have extensive experience in large contract negotiations in complex environment from project development to execution. You have worked in companies that are project driven, with activities related to Marine Operations and/or Civil Works. You have experience working domestically or internationally. Ideally your experience is related to interconnectors, windfarms, or power from shore. You are a proactive, eager to learn and improve, and you possess good communication and co-operation skills. 

  • Master degree in Engineering , Business or Supply Chain
  • 5 years of relevant EPC/EPCI and subcontract management experience.
  • In this role the likelihood of succeeding will increase if you have experience in large contract negotiations in complex environment from project development to execution.
  • In this role, you will work in teams driven by project execution. It is important to contribute to good relations and network with other disciplines and support functions within the Projects, Tender Installation Engineers, Legal, and Sales & Marketing organizations. Additionally, you must ensure the entire purchasing process is in accordance with the Purchasing Model and Project Model.
  • Fluent in English, – oral and written, Norwegian is a plus.
