Senior Engineer – Material

Material Department in Stavanger is looking to strengthen the team with a new Senior/Principal Material Engineer. You will play an important part in the material selection, such as pipes, structures, equipment, valves and instrument.

About the position

As a Material Engineer in topside projects, you’ll conduct technical evaluations in material technology and tackling challenges related to corrosion, erosion, and surface treatment. We’re seeking candidates with minimum 5 years’ experience from modification projects in the oil and gas industry in Norway. Join us and make a difference in an ever-evolving industry!

Responsibilities and tasks include

• Follow-up of vendors with regards to material technology and vendor documents
• Review of welding, NDE, painting and insulation to ensure adherence to company requirements
• Perform offshore surveys
• Material selection and corrosion protection
• Evaluating supplier bids
• Providing input to engineering and equipment packages

Qualifications

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree within Material Engineering
• Knowledge of relevant standards such as NACE, ISO, API, ASTM, ASME and NORSOK
• Proficient language skills in English and Norwegian
• Advantageous with certifications related to NDT or coating
