To meet an exciting, expanding, yet complex and demanding future, we are seeking a Software Engineer R&D to contribute to the future of marine robotics. As part of our Topside team, you will grow while contributing to the development of new and exciting products.

You will be part of the Uncrewed Platforms department, who design, create, and build autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) that can explore the ocean space from sea level down to 6000 meters depths. Our vehicles can operate autonomously for days and weeks at a time, gathering valuable information about the seafloor, the water, and objects below. We create and integrate advanced sensors for information collection, maritime navigation, and communication.

The Uncrewed Platforms software group is responsible for the whole stack, ranging from sensor integration and vessel control to mission planning, control and monitoring as well as the acquisition, visualization, and analysis of recorded data.

What you will be working on

The Topside software team develops robust and highly complex applications for AUV mission planning and execution, data retrieval and visualization. In close cooperation with our other software teams, we focus on simplifying, while improving, the overall user experience for AUV operators throughout the world.

You will be responsible for delivery of technical results within the teams area. On a day-to-day basis you will be involved in software system and component design, specification, implementation, and test. You will have the opportunity to learn how AUVs are operated by joining our own operators on sea trials in the Oslo fjord while testing and verifying new developments.

Qualifications

• A Masters degree within computer science or similar. Experience can compensate for a degree.
• C++ programming experience. Knowledge of modern C++ is highly beneficial.
• You are cooperative, responsible, and quality minded.
• You have an excellent investigative and problem-solving ability.
• You enjoy a good, technical discussion and are not afraid to contribute with your knowledge.
• It is beneficial with experience within one or more of the following areas: Qt, Windows and/or Linux operating systems, processing large data quantities, and networking applications.

This employment may require security clearance by the Norwegian National Security Authority, clearance through Civil Aviation Authority or a background check.
