Canteen Cook

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Cook to join the Canteen team at our head office in Arendal. The canteen provides lunch for the office’s 400 employees Monday to Friday.

During the year, Gard hosts many events for employees and external guests at our office during daytime and evenings. You will play an important role in the preparation and execution of these events.

The position is currently 90 per cent but with scope to become full time in due course.

In this role, you will;

• Participate in developing the menu
• Take part in all services offered by the canteen staff. There may be the occasional evening and weekend work.
• Serve staff and guests in a professional and friendly manner
• Maintain a safe and secure working environment; ensure all tasks are performed in a safe way to ensure compliance with relevant Health and Safety at Work regulations

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

The person we are looking for;

• Is a certificated chef and has relevant and varied experience as a cook from restaurants, canteens or institutions
• Is dedicated and take pride in their work
• Has a genuine interest in food
• Has good communication skills, in both Norwegian and English
• Is a very good team player
• Is creative and welcomes a challenge
• Is flexible, takes initiative and is confident when responsible for various events.
