Automation & Cyber department in Oslo is looking to strengthen the team with a new Principal Engineer. You will contribute to Aibel’s exciting journey in the ongoing energy transition. Our portfolio covers manned and unmanned Oil and Gas topsides, High Voltage substations (HVAC or HVDC), electrification projects and hydrogen facilities.

About the position

Aibel's Automation Engineers design and specify automation systems solutions and strategies for projects in concept, study and detail phases. You will develop automation philosophies & solutions to the required level, as well as developing strategies, philosophies and secure design solutions for remote operation and remote diagnostics. To succeed in this position it is important that you have experience using SCD’s for documentation of logic.In order to excel in this role, it is crucial that you possess experience in utilizing System and Control Diagram (SCD’s) for the documentation of logical processes.

Responsibilities and tasks include

  • Define, specify and design automation and SAS systems for FEED and/or EPC projects
  • Development of automation philosophies & solutions
  • Development of automation SAS programming basis
  • Participate and arrange meetings, workshops and reviews for automation discipline
  • Interface to other disciplines, contractors, suppliers and client

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree
  • 10 + years’ experience from automation engineering in greenfield projects on the Norwegian Continental Shelf
  • 6 + years’ experience from industrial automation and SAS system, design activities and reviews
  • Thorough knowledge of automation design according to relevant standards such as NORSOK, ATEX, PTIL, ISO, DNVGL and IEC
  • Experience with use of SCDs for documenting logic
  • Experience with SIS design activities
