Job Summary

As Technical Product Lead, you will play a crucial role providing clinical chemistry data interpretation of blood sampling used to monitor the health and welfare of fish in aquaculture production facilities, across the Norwegian, UK and North American markets. 

Working with our global technical and sales teams, you will advise customers on the appropriate use of tests, the interpretation of results of chemical and biochemical analyses on fish serum in the context of the farm and production environment, and the follow up investigations that may be required.

Your work will contribute to the understanding and improvement of fish health, growth, and overall productivity in aquaculture settings. You will be responsible for providing valuable insights to optimize aquaculture practices and enhance fish welfare.

 

Key Tasks

  • Undertake global data interpretation of blood biochemistry endpoints generated from routine non-lethal health monitoring of fish.
  • Produce and distribute customer reports within tight turnaround times to facilitate rapid results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional aquaculture teams to support clients with understanding their output data and reports, and assist them in decision making.
  • Responsible for coordinating statistical analysis of output data, and providing scientific insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
  • Present case studies to customers that demonstrate the value provided by non-lethal clinical chemistry-based fish health monitoring.
  • Training of health professionals and customers on the use and benefits of clinical chemistry blood biomarker analysis, and the importance and methods for correct sampling collection and handling.
  • Provide remote technical customer support and be available to support the commercial team if required in the field.
  • Creation and review of Quality Management System documentation for procedures and policies relating to data handling, interpretation, and reporting.
  • Communicate complex commercially sensitive information to colleagues and customers ensuring high levels of data security and customer privacy compliance.

Qualifications and Experience

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Minimum of Bachelor degree in relevant disciplines of veterinary medicine, medical biochemistry, fish health biology, or related field. Will also consider industry experience related to fish health.
  • Practical experience in blood biochemistry analysis, or strong theoretical experience on the subject.
  • Computer literacy and experience in handling and interpreting large data sets. Good statistical analysis ability.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in both Norwegian and English, to ensure all stakeholders are kept informed and effective relationships (both internally and externally) are maintained.
  • Ability to present complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Self-motivated with exceptional attention to detail and high-level skills in organisation of self and others.
  • Flexible attitude to work and ability to adapt to change, including managing multiple territory time zones.

DESIRED CRITERIA

  • Background in fish blood biochemistry.
  • Practical experience in blood sampling.
  • Familiar with aquaculture practices, fish physiology, and fish health management. 
  • Proficient in statistical software applications.
