Let us describe the challenge

An R&D Engineer in Water Linked faces unique challenges when developing products for underwater use, such as reducing power consumption, detecting and processing complex signals in noisy environments, and designing systems that are robust in variable ocean conditions.

We are expanding and need more brains, hands and hearts on deck, we are therefore seeking several engineers and are open to both senior and junior engineers.

What you'll do

In your daily work you will be a part of our expert group within signal processing. The group collaborates to deliver innovative solutions into our projects, and makes up one of the four main expert groups, working closely to support the business in reaching our goals. You will cooperate across expert groups and play a crucial role in one or more of our exciting projects. No two days are the same when developing new products, but you will spend most of your time either at your desk developing, in discussions with colleagues, in one of our labs testing, or even out in the field testing. 

We think that you will excel in this role if you have experience in, and want to work with, the following subjects:

• Signal processing: theoretical and experimental design and analysis: Mathematics, physics, FIR/IRR filters, probability theory, graph theory, lab and field testing
• Image processing: SLAM, deep neural networks
• Cybernetics: Autonomy, navigation, control theory, inertial sensors, GNSS, sensor fusion
• Acoustics: Transducer design, acoustic wave propagation in solid and liquid materials, FEM and numerical calculations, beamforming, molding or potting 
• Sensors and electronics: FPGA, embedded GPU, LNA, ADC, RF, VHDL, CAD software, Altium or similar software

Who you are

As we are expanding and looking for several R&D engineers to join us, we are open to both juniors and seniors. As a junior, just graduating with a Masters degree in a relevant field you have an understanding of the subject areas mentioned for this role, and are eager to learn more. As a senior, you have in addition about five years of experience and consider yourself an expert in one or more of the fields mentioned above, and are ready to gain even deeper knowledge.
