Job Summary

The IT Applications Analyst is responsible for providing applications management and support according to agreed service level agreements. This includes application installation, configuration, integration, process automation, maintenance and user support. Additionally, given the significance of cybersecurity at ConocoPhillips, this position collaborates closely with the global Cybersecurity team to identify and address vulnerabilities

Job Description

Accountability & End Result:

  • Work with Norway BU departmens unit staff and IT Business Analysts to determine applications needs and priorities.

  • Ensure applications lifecycle management.

  • Mitigate Cybersecurity vulnerabilities affecting our application portfolio.

  • Promote applications policies, processes, standards and guidelines.

  • Develop and maintain, deploy, and deliver/support information technology solutions to deliver defined business specific service offerings.

  • Be a liaison with the customer, vendors, local & global IT and relevant Global Functions when needed.

  • Ensure IT’s application management, problem and change management processes are adhered to.

  • Development and/or modification of supporting scripts, utilities and application launchers.

  • Accountable for installation, configuration and support of all applications.

  • Responsible for diagnosing problems with applications.

  • Participate in global and functional networks to ensure that best practices are shared, and corporate standards and technologies are implemented as needed

Assigned roles, responsibilities, procedures and other:

  • Have the ability to prioritize tasks and deliver quality service according to the agreed service levels.

  • Manage operational procedures and tasks to ensure maximum availability of systems.

  • Have the ability to see the ‘big picture’ and therefore continuously improve application performance.

Required skills:

Formal education:

  • Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or similar education with 2-5 years of experience.

2-5 years Experience:

  • Foundational understanding of applications management concepts, standards, practices, tools, and technologies.

  • Familiarity with the primary applications and operating systems utilized within the supported business domain.

  • Exposure to common workflows within the supported business sector, with a willingness to learn and adapt.

  • Basic knowledge of Information Technology solutions, with a focus on internal systems and some awareness of external trends. Developing communication skills, capable of engaging effectively at various levels, with proficiency in both written and verbal communication in Norwegian and English.

Preferred skills:

  • Good analytical and structural capabilities

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work in order to deliver promises to agreed deadlines

  • Team player that can work with minimum supervision and lead others effectively

  • Strong planning and co-ordination skills

  • Good problem solver

  • Customer focused, committed to the provision of a quality service.

  • “Can do” attitude also under pressure.

  • Knowledge about low-code/no-code solutions (MS Power Apps ect)
