Varsity Headwear - Junior Designer

Varsity Headwear is a Norwegian brand founded in 2013 by the brothers, Seb and Alex. We specialize in premium baseball caps that offer a blend of impeccable style and craftsmanship. We’re a fast growing company, driven by our mission to become the leading international brand for high quality caps. Together with our global web presence, we are also retailing in three high end locations (Oslo, St Tropez, and our newest addition, Cannes, with more to come).

We are searching for a proactive and creative Junior Designer to join our Design & Production team. We are a small team with high ambitions on creating best in class products for our customers and being the leading brand on design and innovation within our product category. The role requires general design skills in the Adobe package, a good eye for trend, material and customer research, collection and pattern development and sample making (3D tools preferable).

The ideal candidate will be creative within tight restraints while mastering general design skills and showing a high level of quality control of own work. 

Key Responsibilities

• Developing products that align with both the current collection and future plans
• Innovation projects in collaboration within the team
• Sample making/management
• Development of mockups and prototypes,
• Development and management of Tech Packs for production
• Trade shows and factory visits once in a while

Who are we looking for?

• Experience (minimum 1 years) in Fashion Design or similar design fields. 
• Strong understanding of Design Development practices
• Skilled in the Adobe Package (Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop)
• Experience in trend research and material research
• Experience in fabric and material sourcing
• Interest in customer/user analysis and building a brand muse universe
• Good communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively with cross-functional and -cultural teams
• Creative and analytical thinker with the ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and a desire to learn/specialize.
• “Customer first” mindset
• Google Workspace experience - most importantly: Sheets.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Fashion Design or similar design field. 
• 3D Modelling/Pattern making skills (Such as Clo3D, Browzwear VStitcher, Style3D) are advantageous, but not mandatory.
• Ability to work under time pressure
• Drivers Licsense Class B
