Can you drive business growth through strategic technical leadership?
The NLJV Technical department is responsible for projects, subsurface and the technical value chain in Northern Lights. In addition to work performed inhouse, NL JV heavily rely on technical services provided to NLJV from the owner companies.
The Technical Management group is responsible for the integrity of the planned value chain and ensuring all technical aspects throughout the value chain are handled. In addition to studies and project follow up, we also take part in customer negotiations, planning for operations and strategic planning for future growth.
The Technical Management group is manning for follow up technical studies, support commercial negotiations and plan for operations. For this role it is desirable that it is a person with a deep technical understanding within process and has experience with integration across several disciplines

Your role
As our Technical Lead for Business Development Support, you'll spearhead technical negotiations with customers and oversee follow-up activities, driving forward our business initiatives.
Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to lead various other technical tasks, contributing to NLJV Technical projects.
As the business development is diverse, the specific support & participation task set below are indicating some specific tasks but is not an exhaustive list:
- Technical lead in customer negotiations
- Technical Due Diligence
- Integrate with Technical Team
- Ensure alignment and agreement with best practices and recent developments.
- Support and develop contract updates for technical and commercial interface matters.
- Ensure fulfilment of NL JV commitments towards customers
- Scope, define, follow-up and lead studies, task forces and audits.
- Support NL JV Operations
- Contribute for future growth.
- Contribute to NL JV Business Management System/Governance
- Support authority and external communication
What we need from you?
The Northern Lights team operates with a "one team" and a strong new business mentality with support from shareholders both directly and through various Service Agreements. You will need to be willing and able to challenge conventional thinking and approaches to arrive at innovative, fit for purpose and effective business outcomes.
More specifically:
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Ability to see the ‘big picture’ and support technical department and Business Development section
- Preferably experience from Process engineering, systems engineering or early phase work
- Good understanding of political processes
- Familiar with Norwegian work practices and Norwegian authority requirements and EU CCS regulations.
- While we do not expect every requirement to be met, having experience working across the full value chain, project experience, and technical insight from the oil and gas industry would be advantageous.
Qualifications
We are seeking a candidate with a bachelor or master's degree in a technical discipline, ideally accompanied by experience in commercial negotiations and a comprehensive understanding of technical and multidisciplinary aspects.
We highly value strong communication abilities, both verbal and written, in both Norwegian and English. While not an absolute requirement, proficiency in both languages is preferred.
Occasional travel may occur.
