ABB Marine & Ports Norway is expanding its team with a new position for Azipod Propulsion Service and Commissioning. This is an exciting opportunity to work with ABB’s power systems on ships worldwide.


Your responsibilities

Your workplace will mainly be onboard modern ships where your work tasks would be Service, Inspection and Commissioning of Azipod Propulsion Systems. 


The applicant must be motivated for travelling! One week you may work in Norway, another week you may work in the Far East. Travels could be everything from 1 day to several weeks, but together we try to make a work schedule which would fit both the employee and the customers.

 

Your background

  • College / University (Bachelor) / Technical College – Electrical/Mechanical/Hydraulic
  • Willingness and possibilities to travel.
  • Must be fluent in both written and verbal English.
  • Experience within electrical power, automation systems and/or mechanical/hydraulic systems onboard ships will be an advantage but not an absolute requirement.
  • If you have experience as a ship electrician or have experience from shipyards, understanding and interest in marine installations that would be an advantage.

  • Ability to perform tasks under pressure.
  • Good understanding of marine systems.
