NOV Energy Equipment (Norway) is looking for a dynamic and motivated Product Integration Engineer to strengthen our team. Our product portfolio is a set of advanced vision-based sensor applications for automation solutions. Our clients expect on-time and well-tested solutions before installation and commissioning on board the rigs.

The position is in the Vision Technology department, a part of Digital Products & Automation in NOV’s Energy Equipment unit. The Vision Technology team is tasked with developing and delivering state-of-the-art sensor solutions based upon

• A wide range of sensor technology from single lens cameras to stereo-cameras, and LiDAR.
• Traditional computer vision technology and more advanced Machine Learning methods.

Together with colleagues from other fields of expertise we work to create awesome solutions based on one of the newest and fastest growing technologies out there, AI.

At the end of it, you will have taken part in creating groundbreaking sensor solutions fit for harsh environments where these types of technology have not been used before. A better engineering challenge than that is hard to imagine... right?

The department currently supports and delivers the Stickup Height Detector and Pipe Head Locator products, with new sensors being developed and rolled out continuously. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Further enhancement and development of our existing product portfolio 
• Responsible for product integration of our sensors in project deliveries
• Participate in design of new products to support our automation adventure.
• Contribute to the implementation of Agile and DevOps methodologies. 
• Establish and enforce best practices, standards, and guidelines for product integration. 
• Collaborate with the team to bring innovative solutions to the table, fostering a culture of guidance and openness to change.
• Partake in software development tasks together with the DevOps team.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Experience with project deliveries. 
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Mechatronics or similar (may be compensated by relevant experience) 

Desirable skills: 

• Proficiency in C++ and knowledge about Json and XML files for configuration. 
• Knowledge of GIT and how to use the version control system. 
• Knowledge or experience with product development from earlier work, courses, etc. 
• Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp project requirements. 
• Commitment to incorporating and promoting Agile and DevOps practices within the team. 
• It is an advantage (but not a requirement) if you have knowledge of or experience with the oil and gas industry in general.

Together with colleagues in electrical & instrumentation, as well as mechanical engineering we do prototyping and testing to verify our design concepts. We focus on technical safety to ensure that our solutions are fit for purpose where they are meant to be installed and meet the requirements and expectations of our customers.
