Operator within Development

About the job:

We are looking for highly skilled and motivated machine Operators to work within the Development team. Working across a wide range of disciplines, you will be part of the upscaling and commercialization of our batteries on our Morrow Development Centre (MDC).

You are working directly with the production of A- and B-samples for both of our generation 1 & 2 batteries, along with process improvement tasks to secure competitive products for Morrow.

As a Development Operator, the ideal candidate has the drive for the continuous improvement of operations, are adaptable to change, and are eager to learn.

Key responsibilities:

• Working in a clean room environment, manufacturing A- and B- sample cells to a high level of quality.
• Assist in Design of Experiments (DoE) and cell teardown activities.
• Support Process Engineers and R&D Scientists with implementing tool and chemistry changes.
• Identifying deviations and maintaining our state-of-the-art equipment to guarantee optimal performance and efficiency.
• Upholding our company's core values and policies, with an unwavering commitment to safety, quality, and top-notch performance.
• Support management team in achieving set production targets and objectives daily, with a focus on sample schedule achievement as part of a cross functional team.
• Operating our cutting-edge industrial machines and developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to be followed, ensuring not only productivity but utmost safety.
• Assist in establishing a world class 5s condition throughout our facilities.

Education / Experience

• A minimum of secondary education (technical level) is preferred.
• We seek people with experience from process industry or equivalent.
• Desirable experience from battery industry is advantageous.
• Clean room experience ideally at ISO7 class 10,000.
• The ideal candidate may have experience in Cell manufacturing, Pouch, Prismatic or Cylindrical formats.
• Previous experience in fault finding and investigative techniques.
• Previous experience with Siemens PLC and automation systems is an advantage.
• ISO9001, 14001, IATF 16949 and APQP experience is an advantage.
• Experience using industry standard problem-solving tools like 5WHY, 4M, FMEA is an advantage.

Specific skills and abilities

• It is an advantage if you have experience with industrial equipment and PLC operation.

• You're proficient in efficiently operating equipment and interpreting instructions.

• While fluency in English isn't a strict requirement, effective communication to understand others is essential.

• Able to provide structure to comply with sample production documentation.

• Pro-active and innovative mind-set.

• Proven ability to follow complex projects and collaborate cohesively in high-performing teams.
