Developing high quality products for commercial use in the subsea industry

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary engineering team, you will play a crucial role in designing, integrating, and optimizing products, sensors, and payloads for our offshore autonomous vehicles. You will be responsible for firmware development, electronics design, embedded software implementation, and system integration, contributing to the entire product development lifecycle from conceptualization to field deployment.

Responsibilities:

• Design and integrate products, sensors, and payloads for subsea and surface vehicles in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary engineering team
• Develop and test firmware for products, sensors, and payloads, ensuring reliability and performance under real-world conditions
• Collaborate on electronics design, providing expertise and insights to optimize system architecture and interfaces
• Aid in product specification and documentation, ensuring clarity and accuracy in technical specifications and user manuals
• Follow development processes from initial concept to field deployment, addressing challenges and implementing improvements along the way
• Contribute innovative ideas to enhance Argeo's technology portfolio and improve performance and endurance of our vehicles
• Design and implement embedded software and signal processing algorithms to meet system requirements and performance targets
• Provide training and support to users of Argeo's products, ensuring successful integration and operation
• Actively participate in feasibility studies and practical design tests, evaluating the performance and reliability of new technologies and solutions

Requirements:

• Master's degree (MSc) in Computer Science, Cybernetics, Electronics Design, or similar field
• Minimum of 5 years of engineering design experience, with a focus on embedded systems and electronics design
• Solid understanding of modern computer science principles and experience with embedded software design
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming and strong skills in real-time software systems and data processing
• Experience with communication protocols such as Ethernet, SPI, I2C, etc.
• Familiarity with other programming languages like Python and Rust is beneficial
• Interest in practical design tests and feasibility studies, with a preference for experience in subsea products
• Proactive mindset with the ability to take initiative and suggest and implement improvements
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with fluency in English and Norwegian
• Ability and willingness to occasionally travel for sensor testing and deployment
