Network Security Engineer

The position

• Be part of our Access & Network department within the Information Security Center. One of the focus areas of this team is to enable the company to connect and collaborate by delivering secure network solutions.
• Lead and plan the future strategy for data communication for Equinor as a team.
• Engage with business units and partners, to provide domain expertise, advice and recommendations, based on Equinor’s standard and established frameworks.
• Liaise with vendors and partners to identify the latest in security, networking, telecommunication, and cloud technologies including surrounding industry best practices.
• Design and architect for automation and “infrastructure as code”. Focus on increased levels of automation and self-service across our services.
• Collaborate closely with cyber security to constantly monitor and develop barriers against threats.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Networking or related disciplines. Experience may compensate for formal education.
• Experience of IT infrastructure and connectivity (examples: routing, switching, firewalls, load balancing and related technologies) is required. Industry level certificates will be advantageous.
• Experience with “infrastructure as code” and automation is required.
• Architecture experience with Networks is advantageous.
• Previous experience or an interest in learning about cloud and scripting (examples; phyton, ansible).
• Strong mindset in IT security and operational excellence, along with ability to understand and handle risks.
• Teamwork across disciplines and organisational units.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance in Norway.
• Fluency in English, both written and oral.
