Are you a senior product engineer with strong riser knowledge? Then we have a great opportunity for you in our riser team at Fornebu.

In this job you will play a pivotal role in increased responsibility for the riser systems, products, and portfolio within the drilling riser division. Ideally you will possess a strong technical background, with a focus on product engineering and will contribute to the delivery of riser systems and product management for all project deliveries, as well as conducting evaluation and product support for the aftermarket. You will take responsibility for HSE and quality and play an active role in technology development across various market segments. Your contribution to the development of riser products and roadmap will be in close collaboration with the product owner and aligning with the agreed product strategy.

Furthermore, you will be instrumental in evaluating and enhancing our unique condition-based maintenance (CBM) program for drilling risers, known as the RiCon system. This innovative system allows for continuous classification of equipment based on its actual use and condition, rather than rigid calendar-based schedules. While the RiCon system is in its startup phase, it has already been successfully implemented by several customers worldwide, presenting an exciting opportunity for you to contribute to its further growth and development.

What we think you should have:

You are a senior engineer with experience in riser, product management, project execution and technology. Your technical education is on a BSc or MSc level.

You need to have experience from manufacturing processes, engineering tasks, fabrication follow-up and involvement of 3rd party. Your commercial skillset includes participation in development, technical networking, product kick-off, concept, and design reviews, and FMECA for the product.

It is essential that you can comprehend and conduct early-stage feasibility assessments during detailed design and fabrication, as well as provide technical support throughout the projects and product lifecycle.

A ‘customer first’ mindset is needed in your follow-up activities in close collaboration with the Buyer, ensuring timely review of supplier documentation, and including deviation requests (NCR).

It is crucial to focus on quality, follow-up and supporting others to ensure on-time delivery. This is conducted in collaboration with product management to ensure the ongoing development of products and maintaining competitiveness in the market.
