Machining Expert

Kongsberg Automotive, department Hvittingfoss, is seeking talented and enthusiastic people who are interested in being involved in producing components for the vehicles of the future.

Our Process Engineering department is searching for a Machining Expert to develop new and improve existing manufacturing processes, in order to achieve optimal efficiency, minimum lead time and zero defects.

Responsibilities

As part of a Process engineering team, plan, develop and implement manufacturing processes for new products.

Optimize existing manufacturing processes and implement improvements in the production.

Support running production in problem solving and implementing technical solutions.

• Perform investment analysis of new machines and equipment as well as product cost calculations
• Create/ update instructions and routines for manufacturing processes.
• Start-up new production lines/ cells and support daily production.
• Prepare technical documentation, drawings, and specifications for the purchasing of machinery, equipment and tooling and support the approval of such.
• Support the production of initial samples and prototypes.
• Continues improvements of machining processes.

Wanted qualifications

• Bachelor of Science; mechanical engineering or similar education
• 3 years experience in manufacturing engineer within similar industry with mass production
• Knowledge of CNC controller (Simens and Okuma)
• Cutting tool knowledge for steel machining
• Driver's license class B (no public transportation to the plant)
