The position

By joining our team in Projects, Drilling & Procurement you will have the opportunity to work with marine structures at a world-class and cutting-edge level in the oil & gas as well as low carbon industries. Our work ranges from early phase studies to execution & completion phases and beyond. We are specifically strengthening our team in marine structures / platform technology. Your typical tasks will be:
  • Follow-up of structural discipline in greenfield and brownfield projects covering topside, FPSO and floater hull, jackets and substructure projects from early phase to project execution.
  • Responsible for, alone or as part of a team, the structural discipline in allocated projects in accordance with project development processes.
  • Follow-up on contractors to ensure deliveries in line with scope of work, budget and schedule.
  • Contribute to internal project evaluations and documentation e.g. design basis, technical and operational requirements and guidelines (TORG), functional specifications, technology assessments and qualification programs.
  • Provide input to procurement activities for ongoing and future project phases within own discipline e.g. ITT (information to tender) documentation and process, long lead items and company provided items (CPI).
  • Within own discipline, drive engineering efficiency, secure safety in design, design-to-cost and constructability.
  • During execution, support construction field engineers and take responsibility for decisions within own discipline, e.g. handling of site queries (SQs) and non-conformance requests (NCRs).

You

  • A Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline such as marine technology, mechanical, structural or construction. 
  • 7-10 years experience of relevant work experience in either an engineering or classification company. 
  • Previous experience of structural engineering, carrying out inspections or working as part of a follow up team. 
  • Experience with project development process and its different phases (e.g. early-phase studies, detail engineering, fabrication).
  • Experience with class systematics and regulatory regimes.
  • Good knowledge of national and international standards for offshore structures.
  • Flexible with respect to business travel, offshore travel and types of roles, according to business needs.
  • Fluency in English. Norwegian would be advantageous.
