We are looking for a Claims Executive/Senior Claims executive for our P&I Claims Team in Oslo

We are looking for a Claims Executive/Senior Claims executive for our P&I Claims Team in Oslo. In this role you will handle a variety of claims within P&I, with a particular focus on People and Cargo Claims.

As a Claims Executive/Senior Claims Executive, you will be responsible for evaluating liability and insurance coverage, and negotiating and settling claims. You will also provide advice to our Members within all aspects of P&I claims.

In this role, you will work closely with our insured Members and with a high degree of autonomy in managing your own cases as part of a team with broad experience.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Contribute to the further strengthening of the P&I claims handling capacity towards regional clients from the Oslo office
• Ensuring P&I claims are handled efficiently and reasonably in accordance with claims handling instructions
• Work closely with the specialist P&I teams in Arendal and the wider global Gard claims organisation
• Initiate and contribute to client meetings, presentations, seminars, market events and discussions at an industry level where appropriate
• Contribute to Loss Prevention activities such as benchmarking consultations, emergency exercises and writing articles for external publication.

Is this you?

You are experienced in handling P&I claims, especially People and Cargo claims and any legal experience/training is an advantage, although other relevant shipping experience will also be considered.

You are client-oriented, service minded and curious. Working in Claims, you need to be result-oriented and efficient, whilst remaining quality and cost conscious. Finding pragmatic solutions is core to what we do and is as important to Gard as it is to our customers.

Good written and spoken English is a requirement, and you use it to build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, brokers, and clients.

You need to be able to work independently and structured with your tasks, and you must be a good team player.

You have analytical and good digital skills.
