About the position:

The Specialist Functional Safety Product Engineer will be a part of a team working with development of Functional Safety products, supporting certification activities, create and follow-up information during the life-cycle of Safety products to ensure compliance to the standards in the Energy industry. The position will belong to the Technical, Safety and Reliability department, but will work for the All-Electric development program for Subsea products lead by the Controls & Automation department.

* Develop safety concepts and strategies to identify potential hazards and mitigate risks. Analyze system architectures, identify safety requirements, and define safety goals and targets.
* Creating and establish understandable requirements specifications and be able to share the understanding among stakeholders in the development of Functional Safety products.
* Analyzing and defining requirements for Safety Functions using a requirement management tool.
* Ensure Safety products comply to international standards for the industry, like IEC61508.
* Follow-up and be able to interpret and apply Safety standards to the design and development processes, ensuring adherence throughout the lifecycle of a product.
* Be part of establishing functional safety concepts.
* Enable the communication of the safety requirements among the project team actors.
* Define validation or test cases based on the Functional Safety requirements/criteria.
* Responsible for performing Design reviews.
* Discuss technical safety and reliability aspects with the Customer and internal engineers, and provide decision support.

Experience:
* Experienced in product functional safety certification activities
* Experienced in sensor technology, logic solver, electrical boards
* Practitioner in requirements handling and experience in the following tools and methodologies: Polarion ALM, Enterprise Architect, UML diagrams
* Understanding of safety standards like IEC 61508
* Competency within product development and Safety Integrity Level (SIL)
* Reliability engineering knowledge is a plus

Knowledge:
* Safety engineering knowledge appropriate to the application for E/E/PE safety related systems
* About the complex mix of hardware, software, human factors and safety management systems

* Strong team player with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
* Passionate about requirements management/handling related to safety systems
* The ability to work strategically, but also focus on details where relevant
