We are seeking a talented Data Scientist/Developer to join our quantitative trading team in Oslo.
Job Description:
As a Data Scientist/Developer, Quantitative Trading, you will be developing and implementing cutting-edge quantitative trading strategies to continuously develop our derivatives trading activities and maintain our competitive edge in the global shipping market.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing algorithmic trading models and strategies to capitalize on market opportunities.
- Leveraging advanced data analysis techniques to identify market trends, patterns, and opportunities that inform strategic decisions.
- Building and maintaining trading systems and infrastructure to support quantitative trading activities.
- Monitoring and evaluating the performance of trading strategies and iterating to improve results over time.
- Staying informed about industry trends, market developments, and emerging technologies in quantitative trading to drive innovation.
Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications and personal attributes:
- Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of relevant work experience.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to extract insights from complex datasets.
- Strong programming skills in Python or other similar languages, with knowledge of machine learning as a plus.
- Demonstrated understanding of quantitative trading principles, strategies, and techniques is a plus, but lack of experience can be compensated by interest, curiosity, and drive.
- Self-driven with a strong personal interest in quantitative trading and financial markets.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS (Amazon Web Services) is a plus, but not required.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work autonomously and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
