Seaway7 is seeking a CAD Designer to support our CAD Design Office on a permanent staff basis. This role will be based at our offices in Oslo.

Operationally reporting to the Senior/Principal Designer, the CAD Designer will coordinate and participate in the production of high quality 2D and 3D drafting support for all engineering, sales & marketing-, vessel related- and operational disciplines.

 

What will you be doing

  • Production of structural steel design drawings for transport, installation or removal of structures and required equipment.
  • Production of Design Cable Routings, Shore Pull and Cable Trenching Arrangements.
  • Production of Field Layouts.
  • Preparation of 3D models using AutoCAD 3D and/or Autodesk Inventor.
  • Production of drawings meant for feasibility checks of installation methods / operational procedures.
  • Production of layouts and design drawings for vessels and vessel equipment.
  • Production of yard layout and vessel mooring drawings.
  • Plan assigned tasks and keep project team informed on progress and any deviations.
  • Self-check and registration of drawing files within the file management system.
  • Provide input to the lessons learned register from the project.

 

What you will bring to the team

  • Bachelor’s degree (Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Maritime Engineering or equivalent) or Secondary Vocational with 3-4 years’ relevant experience.
  • Experience of AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
  • Design experience in the offshore industry is beneficial.
  • Good communication skills, in both verbal and written English.
  • Builds and maintains positive internal / external business relationships at all levels.
  • Proficient in the use of IT applications, including MS Office 365.
  • Adaptable and pro-active with structured and methodical approach to tasks, with ability to deliver in a time-sensitive situation.
