Telenor is currently seeking a new Director Personnel & Travel Security at our headquarters in Norway, a role that encompass all aspects of personnel and travel security, and executive protection. The main purpose of the role is to define, govern, control and support implementation of a systematic and risk-based security for employees in their workplace, while travelling and during official events.

As our new Director Personnel & Travel Security, you will be a part of our Security Governance team in Global Business Security (GBS) and the Group CTO organization. GBS is a global expert function with diverse knowledge and experience to take security into the future. Our vision is to always protect people in their digital life and that security is the foundation for everything we do. We provide guidance and expert support in strategic areas to safeguard our assets, societies and people against crime and other threats, and we are working on key initiatives across borders, cultures, and languages.

Some of your main responsibilities:

  • Define, develop, and communicate relevant policies, procedures, and guidelines, including travel risk management.
  • Continuously update potential risks arising from geopolitical phenomena, criminal activity, and other security-related matters that may affect the company and its employees.
  • Maintain an updated global risk map covering any country or region where our personnel operate.
  • Advise on and implement best practices for people security management, ensuring continuous development of company governance, management systems, and relevant documentation.
  • Define and communicate company-wide travel regulations and restrictions.
  • Ensure relevant security training and awareness to our employees.
  • Advise and support management and employees regarding security risks and issues related to personnel and travel security.

Preferred experience and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in security risk management, international relations, criminal investigation, intelligence studies or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in operational security, physical security, safety and crisis operations.
  • Ability to evaluate the security work from both a strategic, tactical, and operational perspectives across all levels in the organization.
  • Excellent understanding and hands on experience from handling threats and providing relevant information to management.       
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles and process, including the ability to conduct risk assessments and apply them to daily operations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior management, external stakeholders as well as other units.
