Role overview

Reporting to the IT Services Manager, the role holder will be primarily responsible for onsite tasks related to the operation and delivery of IT services. This role will also assist with administrative and project tasks as necessary. The role holder is expected to have the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively carry out the responsibilities outlined below.

 

The role is based in the Tananger, Norway office and is part of a small IT team who are geographically dispersed with a high focus on delivering IT services collaboratively.


The role is an ideal opportunity for a start in an IT career, and applications are welcome directly from higher education with an IT discipline.

 

Applicants must have Norwegian citizenship and the right to work in Norway.

Principle responsibilities and accountabilities

  • Provide first line, hands on IT operational support and onsite support
  • Hands-on provisioning and support of IT infrastructure and services
  • To develop effective working relationships internally and, where appropriate, with external partners.
  • Adhere to SES IT policies, guidelines, and standards
  • Provide basic IT training and introductions to new hires
  • Control, secure, issue and reclaim IT hardware inventory
  • Assist in the procurement of IT hardware
  • Installation and/or provision of IT hardware and software
  • Assist with the delivery of IT projects as requested

 

Skills and experience

The following is a list of the skills and experience necessary for this role:

Desirable criteria are marked with an asterisk (*), all others are essential.

 

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Office and O365 software products
  • Knowledge to foundation level in ITIL methodology*
  • Experience with Microsoft products
  • Experience with network cabling, rack setup and rack maintenance*
  • Experience of working with a helpdesk ticketing system
  • Knowledge of tools and techniques to support the customer remotely*
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret customer requirements and the business impact of these
  • Ability to create an inventory list and maintain associated documentation
  • Able to travel to SES sites located in the local region if required
  • 1 year of experience working in an IT helpdesk or IT desktop support role*
  • Working language: Must be fluent in Norwegian and English
