Join our team at Northern Lights JV Operations and Logistics, overseeing operational activities for the NL JV entire value chain. Northern Lights is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to fill the role of LCO2 Commercial Operator.


From loading Liquified CO2 at customer sites to offshore injection, we manage vessel operations and its construction, CO2 transportation, storage and injection, and logistics modelling.

Are you ready to be at the forefront of pioneering groundbreaking contracts for the shipping and storage of CO2?

In this pivotal position, you will play a key role in preparing and executing LCO2 shipping and storage contracts from supply to delivery point in an operationally excellent and optimal manner.

  • Day to day operational management of Time Charter Parties and Transport and Storage Service Agreement contracts ensuring all obligations arising from the contracts are met in an excellent manner and looking for value add or optimization opportunities.
  • Manage vessel and cargo operations such as fleet scheduling, voyage orders, developing long- and short-term loading plans, bunkering.
  • Liaison with external contractual parties, terminal operators, vessel owners, and vendors (e.g., cargo surveyors, port agents), as well as internal teams including , Business Development, Legal, Technical, and Finance.
  • Work with existing customers to ensure parties are aligned and ready to start commercial operations from 2025 and onwards.
  • Assist expansion studies and the development of our operational strategy.
  • Oversee post-deal activities such as reconciliations and claims in close collaboration with other disciplines within Northern Lights.
  • Establish procedures and digital systems for the Operations and Logistics department.

What we need from you?

The Northern Lights team operates with a "one team" and a strong new business mentality with support from shareholders both directly and through various Service Agreements. You will need to be willing and able to challenge conventional thinking and approaches to arrive at innovative, fit for purpose and effective business outcomes.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Business, Maritime, Shipping, or other relevant area with prior professional experience in commercial operations, shipping operations, ex-seafarer or similar operations type environment.
  • Capable to read and understand legal documents (contracts).
  • We highly value strong communication abilities, both verbal and written, in both English and Norwegian. Proficiency in both languages is preferred, however, English communication skills is an absolute requirement.

Northern Lights JV is responsible for developing and operating CO2 transport and storage facilities, open to third parties, as part of Longship, the Norwegian Government’s full-scale carbon capture and storage project. When it starts operations in 2024, it will be the first ever cross-border, open-source CO2 transport and storage infrastructure network, shipping CO2 to an onshore receiving terminal at Øygarden on the Norwegian west coast, before being transported by pipeline for permanent storage in a reservoir 2,600 metres under the seabed.
