About the role:

Our Environmental Risk Management Section is a leading environmental consulting provider. We focus on environmental risk and impact, biodiversity, and healthy oceans. Our mission is to help customers achieve their Sustainability Development Goals, with a special emphasis on supporting them in becoming nature-positive by 2030.

The section comprises three groups, each led by a dedicated Team/Group Leader. These groups collaborate closely to address biodiversity management, reduce environmental risks, and impacts on nature.

We are seeking a visionary leader with a strong environmental background and min 3 years of management experience. As the Head of Section, you will lead a group of 35 professionals and play a pivotal role in shaping our environmental services and driving our commitment to a sustainable future. Your strategic mindset and business acumen will be essential in meeting the increasing demand for environmental solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Building and managing a strong professional and motivated team by developing and empowering the highly competent employees comprising today’s team.
  • Assessing and maintaining competence needs and capacity of the unit.
  • Driving marketing and sales of services.
  • Preparing budgets, make plans and setting goals according to the department annual operating plan.
  • Ensuring efficient and consistent service delivery aligned with customer expectations.
  • Driving business to ensure relevance and cost efficiency of the service portfolio.
  • Broadening and developing our services towards needs related to The Global Biodiversity Framework (the Nature Agreement)
  • Stimulating a high-performing culture, setting clear directions, and serving as a role model for an inspiring employee experience.

About you:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent education related to Environment, Nature Science, Sustainability or equivalent.
  • Fluent in English and Norwegian language.
  • +3 years experienced in managing and supervising teams.
  • Strong leadership skills, employee engagement, and motivation.
  • Cultural awareness and the ability to relate to people at different levels.
  • Foresight to anticipate market trends and adapt accordingly.
  • Positive and proactive attitude with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Operational and sales mindset with a client relationship focus.
  • Coaching skills to empower the team.
