Scientist to Gentian’s application validation group (In Vitro Diagnostics)

We are looking for two new colleagues in the positions as scientists in our application validation group which is part of the Research and Development department. There are one 100% permanent position, and one 100% temporary position for 12 months. Both will start as soon as possible.

This is an opportunity for highly motivated candidates with a higher science degree (Master of Science or equivalent), laboratory experience and an interest in the diagnostic or medical device industry. The person we are looking for is accurate, systematic and is flexible regarding international travel.

The scientists will be part of the R&D team as members of the application validation group. The main responsibilities will be to qualify our products; either new products internally as part of the main documentation for regulatory purposes, or existing products, internally or externally, on new clinical chemistry analysers requested by Gentian’s partners in terms of application validation. Training will be given.

The hired candidates will also participate in:

• Assigned product development projects and work within all aspects of new product development such as optimisation, verification, and validation phases.
• Responsibility for qualification and maintenance of internal instruments
• Gentian’s internal and external clinical trial investigations
• Investigation of customer complaints or other tasks within the department’s responsibilities.
• Activities to maintain Gentian’s quality system.

Preferred qualifications and skills:

• Higher degree in science/technology (M.Sc. or equivalent)
• 3-5 years of analytical laboratory experience and experience with analytical instrumentations within the IVD industry
• Experience with immunoassays, either developing or using in routine
• Operating and/or maintaining clinical chemistry analysers.
• Skilled in relevant statistics or mathematics.
• Software: MS Office Excel and Word, Statistical tools: Analyse-It for Excel or other relevant statistical software
• Language skills: English is the official company language. Able to communicate in Norwegian is an advantage but not a requirement.
