Chief Engineer (Oil and Chemical Tanker)

Bergen Tankers is seeking Chief Engineer (C/E) for Tanker – Oil Chemical vessel under Norwegian flag (NOR) for Norwegian Coastal Trade.

Responsibilities:

• Head of the engine room department and responsible for follow-up and training of the engine crew onboard
• Accountable for safe operation and maintenance of the vessels equipment and systems
• Liable for daily reporting of technical matters, and contribute to planning of dockings and yard stays
• Obligated to ensuring sufficient amounts of the necessary oils, bunkers, spare parts and supplies are on board
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry standards
• Play an active role in developing instructions and procedures
• Collaborate with other officers and crew to ensure smooth vessel operations
• Participate in emergency drills and response procedures

Qualifications:

• Experience as Chief Engineer on oil and chemical tankers
• M2/Oil/Chem advanced-ERM-STCW Safety-IGF/LNG advanced
• Experience with LNG powered engines
• Proficiency in handling cargo pumps, ballast systems, and other relevant equipment
• Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations
• Expertise in SIRE vettings
• Excellent leadership and problem-solving skills
• Scandinavian language preferred
