Do you like the idea of modernizing digital retail? Do you want to play a key role in developing the e-commerce area for one of Norway's largest retail players? Then we have an exciting opportunity for you!

We have clear ambitions of changing the retail industry as we know it through innovative data and tech products and are now strengthening our E-commerce team with a Senior Software Engineer who will play a central role in moving this area forward. As our new Software Engineer, you will be an important player in our journey to develop future-oriented services that add business value to Coop and our customers. Your input will be valuable in our ongoing migration to the cloud and the modernization of our e-commerce portfolio.

We believe your day-to-day at Coop will look somewhat like this:

  • Development and improvement of both new and existing functionality of our e-commerce solutions and their surrounding integrations.
  • Be an active contributor to our product team to make sure new development is carried out based on good technical principles.
  • Be a vital resource in the ongoing migration of e-commerce to the cloud.
  • Be a driving force in the development processes and work closely with tech lead, developers, product managers and other key resources.
  • Take part in technical discussions, decisions and roadmap planning with the rest of the team.
  • Design, develop and implement high-quality solutions.

To succeed in the role, we believe you:

  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a developer.
  • Have knowledge of languages such as Go, TypeScript or similar languages.
  • Have experience with GCP or one of the other cloud providers.
  • Are a strong problem-solver, thriving when tackling complex software engineering tasks.
  • Are motivated by delivering software to production with business and customer impact.
  • Are curious and keen to keep up to date with the latest industry standards.
  • Are a team player who thrives with collaboration in cross-functional teams.
  • Have the ability to communicate fluently in English (both oral and written).

We think you will also benefit from having:

  • A strong DevOps mindset with good knowledge of tools and technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
  • Experience with protocol buffers, gRPC and relevant technologies.
  • Experience with microservices.
  • The ability to see and understand the value chain of e-commerce/omnichannel, and how the right technology can add to delivering great services to our customers (experience with e-commerce is an advantage, but not a must)
  • Higher education within relevant fields (BSc, MSc or similar). Relevant work experience can compensate for this.

We can offer you:

  • To be part of an ambitious and diverse team where you get to impact the way of working and contribute to organizational guidelines.
  • Excellent opportunities for personal and professional development (e.g., conferences, training, time to work on own projects/upskilling, etc.).
  • Modern office spaces at our HQ at Grorud with a good canteen and a training room.
  • High degree of flexibility on working hours and location.
  • Gear and equipment (Mac/Windows) are provided when you begin your adventure with us.
  • Competitive compensation package in addition to good pension and insurance schemes.
  • Other benefits like mobile phone and internet coverage, company cabins, and discounts in all Coop stores.
