As we steer our company into the future, we’re looking for a skilled Cloud Engineer to guide our vessels smoothly into the realm of cloud computing.
As a key member of our IT team, you’ll collaborate closely with our experts to migrate our IT operations to the cloud. Together, you will ensure that our applications transition smoothly into the Azure environment, adapting and thriving in their new digital seascape.
Your contributions will include actively engaging in the process of these changes, participating in group discussions for optimizing applications, and assisting in routine maintenance and monitoring of our systems. You will work closely with various departments worldwide, sharing your expertise to enhance the use of cloud technology across the company and providing necessary technical support.
We are looking for a team-oriented Cloud Engineer who is passionate about technology. The ideal candidate should excel in collaborative environments, possess strong problem-solving skills, and be adept at communicating complex technical concepts in an accessible manner. A background in Azure cloud services and experience with Oracle and MS SQL databases are valuable.
Knowledge of maritime operations, while beneficial, is not required. We value individuals who are eager to contribute to a company that emphasizes sustainability, efficiency, and innovation in the shipping industry.

- 3 Cloud Engineers: This skilled crew brings knowledge of cloud infrastructure and will be instrumental in navigating the migration process.
- 2 Vessel IT specialists: With extensive experience in our vessels' infrastructure, these team members offer invaluable insights to ensure a smooth transition.
- Global Support Team: Our passionate support team, spread across Bergen, Rio and Manila, provides exceptional 24/7 backing for our daily operations both at sea and ashore.
While masters of their craft during the day, this team prioritizes a strong work ethic and professionalism. They value collaboration and helping each other out, fostering a supportive and positive work environment. Whether you're a seasoned sailor or just starting your voyage, you'll find a friendly face and a helping hand!
Your background and experience
- Demonstrated experience in working with Azure cloud services, showing a deep understanding of cloud technology and its applications.
- Practical experience in deploying services using Azure Dev/Ops and proficiency in Infrastructure as Code methodologies.
- A history of effective collaboration in IT teams, particularly in roles that involved migrating systems to cloud environments.
- Knowledge of maritime operations and shipping industry IT systems is very beneficial, though not mandatory.
- You may have M.Sc., B.Sc., Technical College, or other relevant experience necessary to do the job.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as an Azure Engineer.
- Competency in deploying services on Azure using Azure Dev/Ops and IaC
- Ability to design new solutions in Azure based on business requirements.
- Ability to automate tasks and procedures in Azure with PowerShell/Azure CLI
- Familiarity with managing databases/data lakes in a cloud environment
Working Conditions:
- Primarily office-based with options for remote work (60/40)
- Standard office hours with occasional overtime to meet project deadlines.
