HSEQ Engineer

As the HSEQ Engineer your role is responsible for providing hands-on, practical safety support and guidance to both the onshore and offshore teams, ensuring compliance with current legislation and regulations. 

To excel in this position, it is essential you display a proactive mindset, backed by a history of achieving tangible outcomes in a similar role.  Additionally, a willingness to question the existing norm is crucial.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide practical safety support and guidance to Project teams, both onshore and offshore
• Lead alignment of the corporate safety culture throughout the organisation
• Participate in project or site HIRA's/HAZID/HAZOP processes in conjunction with project teams
• Facilitate lessons learned and continuous improvements from projects throughout the organisation
• Implement project based improvements of HSSEQ related processes
• Lead internal and external project based audits
• Line management of local HSEQ teamQualification;

• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with third party representatives and external stakeholders 
• Ability to manage multiple ongoing matters at once 
• An organized and systematic approach; attention to detail 
• Committed to the highest level of integrity 
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders across different offices and countries
• Take initiatives and follow through regarding matters of HSEQ  
• Team player with good collaboration and communication skills  
• Travel to project locations as required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

QUALIFICATION

• Technical education on bachelor level or higher within working area HSEQ education 
• Recognized further education (Bachelors or masters) in QHSE subjects.  
• Work experience can compensate for lack of formal competency.  
• QHSE experience from Oil and Gas industry is preferred.  
• Relevant industry experience within HSEQ  
• HSEQ audit & verification capabilities (internal/external)  

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE  

You need to have experience of working with vessel based projects, and have a strong knowledge of HSEQ standards and legislation..
