Environmental Specialist

DNO Norge AS is looking for an Environmental Specialist to join our team in Stavanger. We are looking for a person with in-depth knowledge of environmental legislation and expectations, someone who is keen to share knowledge and cooperatively collaborate across various functions.

The role requires a person with experience and a firm understanding of environmental support to exploration drilling, planning and operations with special responsibility on environmental aspects. In addition, the role plays an important part in coordinating and ensuring internal and external environmental reporting. This includes quality assurance and reporting of Greenhouse gas data, and figures to the corporate sustainability (CSR) report. The role is expected to prepare, present, and give advice and support in environmental related matters.

Key responsibilities:

• Support and live the DNO Biodiversity and HSSE Policy
• Offer clear guidance on the Environmental requirements providing effective coaching and technical advice to support teams and individuals in achieving the necessary quality of work to ensure environmental compliance.
• Provide environmental competence and support to DNO Norge; exploration drilling projects and operations (Environmental surveys and analyses, permits and consent, verifications, tender evaluations, reporting etc.)
• Prepare, review submit annual environmental reports to the Norwegian Environment Authority
• Ensure necessary reports on greenhouse gas emissions and CO2 quotas reporting.
• Support development of management system
• Act as special advisor in on case of an oil spill response emergency.
• Advise on environmental sensitive areas and support in licensing round process.
• Keep updated on relevant HSEQ standards, laws, and legislation.
• Communication and cooperate with environmental stakeholders including authorities.
• Encourage learning and innovation by reviews and the effective utilisation of forums and knowledge databases.
• Represent DNO Norge in relevant groups in NOFO, Offshore Norge and other relevant environmental industry workgroups.

Required experience and qualifications:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in combination with relevant experience
• Minimum 5-8 years of experience within the area External environment
• Competence in offshore safety regulations
• Relevant software training
• Basic safety and emergency response training is favoured

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a multi discipline team
• Able to build relationships and influence external stakeholders within area of expertise
• Proactive, strategic and solution oriented
• Excellent Norwegian and English written and verbal communication skills

The position will be based at our offices in Stavanger and report to the HSEQ Manager North Sea.
