About You

Optime is seeking individuals who are eager to work on projects, specializing in one or more specific engineering disciplines, and are keen to develop their expertise through on-the-job training and interaction. We welcome applicants who are recent graduates as well as those with experience in the field.

Your Mission

• Collaborate closely with projects to utilize FEA simulations for decision-making and driving design solutions in fast-paced delivery projects.
• Select appropriate materials for various applications.
• Conduct analysis on Internal and External Pressurized Equipment/Components.
• Perform structural calculations on subsea frames/skids.
• Design, verify, and conduct strength assessments for Lifting and Handling Calculations and Setups.
• Work closely with internal and external customers to interpret specifications and customer standards.
• Provide technical support for innovative design studies.
• The role involves onsite workshop support and supporting third parties.
• Work across the breadth of the company as a subject matter expert in analysis and material science.

Key Requirements

• Higher education such as a master's or bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering/Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of metallic materials and their mechanical and chemical properties.
• High proficiency in non-metallic materials, such as rubber and polymers used in seals.
• Familiarity with international material standards and system requirements within subsea O&G (e.g., NS-EN 13445, ASME Section VIII for pressurized equipment).
• Proficiency in simulation tools such as Abaqus, Flexcom, or similar tools like Ansys, SolidWorks, Nastran, etc.
• Understanding of Global Strength Analysis is preferred.
• Knowledge of product and system failure modes.
• Good communication skills in Norwegian and English, both oral and written.
