About You
Optime is seeking individuals who are eager to work on projects, specializing in one or more specific engineering disciplines, and are keen to develop their expertise through on-the-job training and interaction. You should maintain a high level of energy, take pride in delivering high-quality results, and have a desire to further enhance your technical skills. We welcome applicants who are recent graduates as well as those with experience in the field.
Your Mission
- Collaborate closely with projects to utilize FEA simulations for decision-making and driving design solutions in fast-paced delivery projects.
- Select appropriate materials for various applications.
- Conduct analysis on Internal and External Pressurized Equipment/Components.
- Perform structural calculations on subsea frames/skids.
- Design, verify, and conduct strength assessments for Lifting and Handling Calculations and Setups.
- Work closely with internal and external customers to interpret specifications and customer standards.
- Provide technical support for innovative design studies.
- The role involves onsite workshop support and supporting third parties.
- Work across the breadth of the company as a subject matter expert in analysis and material science.
Key Requirements
- Higher education such as a master's or bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering/Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of metallic materials and their mechanical and chemical properties.
- High proficiency in non-metallic materials, such as rubber and polymers used in seals.
- Familiarity with international material standards and system requirements within subsea O&G (e.g., NS-EN 13445, ASME Section VIII for pressurized equipment).
- Proficiency in simulation tools such as Abaqus, Flexcom, or similar tools like Ansys, SolidWorks, Nastran, etc.
- Understanding of Global Strength Analysis is preferred.
- Knowledge of product and system failure modes.
- Good communication skills in Norwegian and English, both oral and written.
