SINTEF Manufacturing's Department of Industrial Ecosystems is a leading European research environment dedicated to developing innovative circular products, digital solutions, and sustainable production for value chains. The Productivity and Value Chains Research Group supports a diverse range of industrial sectors with research and services on sustainable, next-generation production and operations management and organizational systems, as well as leadership and organizational development. The group is growing rapidly, with an extensive project portfolio of national and international projects in various domains such as applied AI in manufacturing, Lean Production, Zero-defect Manufacturing, and the Sustainable development of industry, both in large multinationals and in SMEs. Our aim is to expand the group with a dedicated researcher who will contribute to a human centric, competitive Norwegian manufacturing sector through the development of inter-organizational learning for resilient and sustainable value chains, and sustainable products and production processes. 

Your Profile 

We are looking for candidates who can interact with industry partners as well as researchers from other fields, with research and/or advisory experience within leadership- and organizational development, or sustainable supply chains. Maybe with a background from Lean Production, Quick Response Manufacturing, Zero Defect Manufacturing, Circular Economy or similar fields of expertise, and an interest in people development in cross-organizational and circular value chains. Having experience working in or interacting with industry is advantageous, as well as an established publishing track record and experience with participating in both national and European projects, including developing and writing project applications. We value an interest in self-development, the ability to work both independently and together with other researchers and industry partners, as well as a drive for applied research, practicality, and curiosity. The right candidates possess a PhD or a master’s degree in relevant topics. 

Your Responsibilities 

Researcher You will be working on our departments existing project portfolio as well as contribute to the development of project applications and work packages in close cooperation with customers and partners. In addition, you will contribute to the dissemination of research results through scientific and popular scientific publications. A desire to lead work packages and projects and carry out research both independently and together with other researchers is expected. 

Senior Researcher You will play a key role in developing the research portfolio of the group through industry and research partnerships. You will lead the application process for national and/or international projects from idea and consortium development, to writing and finalizing applications together with industry and research partners. In addition, you will contribute to the dissemination of research results through scientific and popular scientific publications, as well as through national or international conference appearances. A desire to lead research projects and carry out research both independently and together with other researchers is expected.

The position is based in Trondheim, Raufoss or Oslo. The working language is Norwegian, and fluency in English is also required.
