In the context of its dynamic expansion, The Quartz Corp (TQC) is looking for a talented candidate to fill the position of Internal Control Manager at our headquarters at Lysaker, Norway.  

TQC has developed a unique position in several high-tech value chains in Solar, Semiconductor, Optical Fibre and is now facing the excitement, and the responsibility, of playing a key role in energy transition.  As a matter of fact, TQC’s products have become critical in the manufacturing of Solar cells.  In this context, it is experiencing a growth period, supported by material investment programs both in the USA and in Norway where the main production sites are hosted.

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as an Internal Control Manager. You will be responsible for developing and implementing an effective internal control framework to ensure the integrity of our operational and financial processes.

In this role, we are looking for someone who has solid theoretical and practical experience within the internal control area and the current framework. You have a business-oriented and strategic approach and are pragmatic in your working style. The scope for this role is global (primarily US, Norway and China) and will work closely with operations, finance and executive management teams. 

You will bring a clear business focus and a desire to contribute as a real Business Partner for the organization. You will be able to create, implement and process an effective control environment that supports the business by building processes that reduce risk and therefore contribute to the achievement of the organization's goals and objectives.

The position reports to the group's CFO.

Key tasks and responsibilities  

• Overall responsibility for the internal control function in the group
• Develop, implement and maintain robust internal control framework, within the financial and operational environment 
• Develop and maintain the tools and systems of internal control for business processes, monitoring and tracking gap assessments and follow up
• Conduct risk assessments to identify potential areas of vulnerability and develop strategies to mitigate those risks
• Work with the business to promote a culture of risk awareness, control and mitigation
  • Ensure consistency of practice and approach throughout the group
  • Apply leading best practices to all activities
• Perform regular reviews and evaluations of control processes, making recommendations for improvements and enhancements
• Provide training and guidance to employees at all levels to promote a strong internal control culture throughout the organization
• Support the embedding of all relevant risk requirements (group and regulatory)
• Stay abreast of trends, emerging risks, and changes in regulations to proactively adjust internal control strategies

For this position, we are also looking for:  

• Higher relevant economic education at master's degree level
• Ideally 5 years or more of relevant work experience
• Experience with internal control in larger enterprises, preferably from production environments
• Relevant experience within relevant frameworks such as COSO
• Experience using ERP systems (NetSuite experience an added plus) 
• A collaborative working style and ability to work across multiple geographies and cultures
• Good oral and written presentation skills in English and a Scandinavian language
• Strong communication skills to interact across the organization, within operations, finance, and information technology as well as with the executive management team
