In order the strengthen our geoscience organization we are looking for an experienced geoscience & petrophysics leader to focus on domain integration, strategic positioning and mindshare growth.

Job description:

The Sub-Surface lead will be a technical, managerial and customer focused job role where the key responsibilities for the position are as follows:

  • Improve customer knowledge of our well placement and reservoir characterization technology
  • Identify and execute new business opportunities by delivering value based and innovative geoscience solutions across all acquisition domains
  • Create strong customer relationships with key technical stakeholders
  • Significant contributor to technical publications and mindshare creation
  • Manage and develop the Sub-Surface team to provide industry leading solutions to complex petrophysical and reservoir placement challenges
  • Demonstrate technical leadership and financial acumen

In summary, the position will aim to improve customer intimacy and technical peer relationships by working collaboratively on complex sub-surface problems that will range from reservoir engineering, development of petrophysical workflows and using analytics to derive value from large datasets. A key requirement is a proven track record of bridging the gap between technology answer products and cross technical domain integration to solve complex sub-surface problems.

A significant breadth of knowledge is required to be successful in this position where the ability to work effectively as a team and integrate a wide variety of data sources to solve complex problems is a pre-requisite.


Qualifications:

  • 15 year's experience working in Geoscience technical disciplines
  • Has demonstrated technical leadership by publishing and presenting papers at leading industry events
  • Has already held leadership positions and can demonstrate leadership qualities and the ability to manage a team with more than twenty direct reports
  • Operator experience in a lead petrophysics role
  • Customer facing experience in a technical job role with a proven track record in developing solutions
  • Preferably Master (MSc) or minimum Bachelor degree (BSc) in Petroleum Engineering, Geology, Science or other relevant fields
  • Can demonstrate significant participation in industry technical organizations e.g. SPWLA, EAGE etc.
  • Fluency in English verbally and written required, beneficial with a Norwegian language
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Solution oriented and adaptable
