Job Summary

ConocoPhillips Norway is looking for Instrument Technicians for its fields in the Greater Ekofisk Area.

Instrument Technicians are incorporated into operations/maintenance teams consisting of Electricians, Instrument Technicians, Mechanics and Process Technicians. The number of Instrument Technicians on board the platform(s) varies in complexity and size.

The Instrument Technician reports to the Maintenance Supervisor or the Operations and Maintenance Supervisor who is also the Electrical Supervisor on board the platform. The Operations and Maintenance Supervisor belongs to the Platform Manager's organisation.

Instrument Technicians on board the platform maintain the automation systems so that they meet the technical requirements set out in regulations and regulations at all times.

The tasks for Instrument Technicians will mainly include the field part for the platform's automation systems.

Job Description

Responsibilities and functions

  • Troubleshooting, reinstallation, documentation creation and preventive and corrective maintenance. This includes EX equipment, PLC system, controllers, converters, valves, actuators, transmitters, well management and PCSS field equipment with associated fire, gas and ESD systems
  • Comply with applicable regulations and standards
  • Comply with the company's management system, procedures and guidelines
  • Actively participate in problem solving
  • Be a sponsor for new arrivals in the position and when transferring experience, familiarizing them with new work tasks
  • Expect to be assigned emergency tasks

Work schedule

  • 14-28 offshore rotation

Qualification requirements

  • Certificate of apprenticeship as an Automatician
  • Min. 5 years of relevant experience as an Instrument Technician
  • Experience from offshore work
  • Basic EX courses with some experience
  • Some experience with PLC (programmable logic controller)
  • Some experience with fire alarm systems
  • Some experience with the PSA's regulations
  • Must be able to assume an emergency role as a smoke diver or other emergency tasks based on the company's needs
  • Good Norwegian and English skills

Other requirements

Health compatible with requirements for offshore health certificates and basic offshore safety courses. See the Regulations relating to health requirements for persons working on facilities in the offshore petroleum activities, as well as basic safety courses for offshore.

The position may have an emergency preparedness function and one must be prepared to take on an emergency preparedness role based on the company's needs.

Necessary permits to live and work in Norway on a permanent basis without restrictions.
