As a key member of our team, the Legal Counsel plays a crucial role in navigating the complex landscape of opportunities and risks that come with our innovative mission. This position offers a unique blend of challenges and rewards, allowing you to contribute significantly to a cause that matters.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Managing Waterise' legal matters, both on a group level and for business entities.
- Drafting and reviewing agreements, including for financing, capital market transactions, supplier agreements and customer agreements.
- Maintaining the records of the group's operations and legal documents, including preserving all corporate records.
- Managing and liaising with outside counsels as required, both Norwegian and Internationally.
- Advising management and board on various matters such as legal rights, and relevant new and existing laws.
- Maintaining Waterise’ corporate governance policies and procedures, in liaison with subject matter experts as appropriate.
- Advising and participating in Waterise' commercial processes towards clients and suppliers as well as financial institutions.
- Conducting legal research and reviewing the group's litigation strategy pertaining to legal actions.
- Proposing and drafting directives of corporate acts and decisions.
- Handling statutory filings, such as licensing forms.
- Assisting with creating new legal entities abroad.
- Assisting with managing Waterise' intellectual property.
- Other ad-hoc or periodic tasks
- Master’s degree in Law and Attorney at law with the Norwegian Bar Association, or equivalent International degree and bar association membership.
- From 5 years of practice with an established law firm and/or relevant experience as advisor or counsel from a business environment
- Legal experience with contract law, business, financing and M&A.
- Experience with corporate governance will be considered an advantage.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of statutes, rules and regulations pertaining to businesses.
- Thorough understanding of business sensitivities and confidentiality.

- Organizational skills: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, scientists, project managers, and executives. Must be able to build relationships and work collaboratively to advance the company’s goals.
- Attention to Detail: Diligence in reviewing legal documents and conducting legal research to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Flexibility: Ability to adjust strategies and approaches in response to changing legal landscapes or business needs.
