Do you want to be a part of driving this transition? Our Consultancy Electrical Transmission team in Oslo is now looking for Senior Electrical Power Engineers.

The Consultancy Electrical Transmission team in New Energies in Aker Solutions consists of leading experts working across areas that include offshore wind, offshore transmission grid, offshore electrification, power to/from shore, and advanced subsea power distribution systems. We combine in-house technology and close cooperation with leading suppliers with deep system analysis competence to create the best solutions for our customers.

By combining the high voltage power expertise with our extensive subsea and offshore engineering experience we design the High Voltage electrical transmission system from offshore wind farms via offshore substations and further to shore for connection to the onshore grid, optimizing the offshore- and onshore substations, inter array-cables to the wind farm and export cables. Further we design electrical transmission systems for Wind for Oil and for electrification by Power from Shore, always looking into the complete power system.

What will you be doing?

  • The position is in Consultancy Electrical Transmission where our main responsibilities and tasks are to advise our clients and perform studies and Front-end engineering related to electrical power systems.
  • Our High Voltage products includes subsea-, floating and bottom fixed substations, working on HVDC- and AC systems and components.
  • As part of the team, you will work with design and development of electrical high voltage systems. You will be a Subject Matter Expert across Aker Solutions, and you will be part of a great network.
  • In addition to advisory and study-work, you will participate in tenders, R&D-projects and technical support in execution projects, as well as strategy processes.

We think you should have:

  • M.Sc. or similar within Electrical Power Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of experience from the energy business, e.g. within grid, industrial, wind, offshore or subsea high voltage power systems and components
  • Experience within engineering, delivery and follow-up of electrical systems/equipment and projects
  • Experience from power system simulation tools is advantageous, but not required. We use DIgSILENT PowerFactory, Flux2D/UFIELD etc, and will train you as needed.
  • Fluent in English with good verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive, practical, structured and analytical
  • An open and curious mindset
