Our Manganese Alloys R&D Center in Trondheim now has an exciting opportunity for a scientist within the area of Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS/CCS) and circular economy. We are seeking candidates with a minimum of 5-10 years' experience in research and project management, preferably from the metallurgical industry.
Successful implementation of existing and new technologies for carbon-free manganese alloys production will enable Eramet to reach our ambitious goals for CO2 emission reduction. The selected candidate will monitor the development within the field of CCUS/CCS and be engaged in dialogue with relevant technology providers. Our new employee will also contribute to projects aiming to reduce waste and commercialize by-products, contributing to reaching the company's target to reduce landfill deposits by 50% in 2030.
The vision of the Manganese Alloys R&D is research using our production facilities as case studies for a sustainable and data-driven operation. The R&D Unit works closely with all plants in the Mn Alloys Business Unit, located in the USA, Gabon, France and Norway.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Execute R&D projects within the field of climate and circular economy, utilizing internal and external resources,
- Contribute to the sourcing of external funding for projects,
- Establish and maintain cooperation with leading R&D environments within relevant fields of knowledge,
- Facilitate implementation of the most mature solutions and support plant actions.
Qualifications:
PhD or MSc with relevant R&D experience in one or several of the following fields:
- CO2 emission reduction through process improvements, Circular economy, Carbon Capture and Utilization, Process metallurgy
- Experience from project management in development projects involving research institutes and engineering companies,
- Minimum 5-10 years of industrial experience including involvement in major projects,
- Norwegian and/ or English language skills at a proficient level.
Personal qualities:
- An innovative and analytical mindset with a genuine interest for emerging technologies,
- Collaborative and communication skills along with strong networking abilities are essential in this role,
- Ability to source the relevant skills and resources from our technical teams and act as a driving force to mature projects.
