In a good market and with strong financial results, we will now launch a new organizational structure for Odfjell Tankers, including a new management level for chartering and ship operations.
We are looking for candidates with solid knowledge and experience within chartering or relevant commercial fields, who have the interest and ability to lead and motivate others.

You will work closely with colleagues as well as with customers and external partners around the world. The position is located at our headquarters in Bergen and will be part of the leadership team for the relevant Trade (geographic area). International travelling, including ad hoc travelling, is expected. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Profit & Loss responsibility for a Trade Lane, including bookings and nominations, reports and presentations
• Drive implementation and communication of Trades strategy together with Trades leadership team
• Seek continuous improvement in processes and technologies.
• Support VP (Vice President) in developing Trade strategy
• Manage key customer relationships and accounts, including contract negotiations and management
• Contribute to tonnage utilization across trades
• Act as Charterer within Trade
• Lead a team of Charterers including onboarding, training and development of team
• Collaborate closely with other chartering groups, ship operations and marketing offices
  
  

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelors degree within shipping, finance, logistic or other relevant areas
• Min. 5 years of relevant experience
• Commercial mindset and business acumen
• Good communication skills and the ability to work in English
• Ability for building positive and trusting relations both internally and externally
  
  

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

• Leadership experience
• International work and/or study experience
• Organizational and negotiation skills
• Relevant masters degree
