About the role

As a Product Specialist, you will be responsible for evaluating the readiness of our packaging system with regards to products in the home and personal care segment. You will work closely with the New Business Development project team and other stakeholders to scout, test and document new application technologies within the paper packaging applications. You will also support the launch of new products in terms of packaging, applications and opening devices.

Main tasks

• Scout for new application technologies within the paper packaging applications. Evaluate the technology in close cooperation with the New Business Development project team

• Conduct in-house tests through evaluating designs and choose the test methodology, to analyze the findings together with other stakeholders in Elopak

• Create new procedures or adapt existing food procedures for testing of products in the home and personal care segment

• Execute and support field test projects, provide support for the launch of new products in terms of packaging, applications and opening devices. Report and document test criteria/parameters and results bringing it to a conclusive advice

• Responsible for the extraction of line data, logging the test material and product data, and report these as part of in-house tests and/or customer runs. Lead the test area activities, steer tasks with other test stakeholders

• Work together with other interfaces supporting the business development team in different phases of product development

Requirements

• Bachelor of chemistry or other relevant education

• Experience in the Non-Food Personal Care and/or Home Care segment related to specific applications relevant for Elopak

• Laboratory experience

• English mandatory, Norwegian and or German basic communication skills is an advantage

• Extensive travel expected - up to 50% 

• Curious, innovative thinking, team worker, good communication skills

• Structured and independent work approach, customer orientation, ability to deal with failure and restart of activities

• Able to work effectively as part of a team and build solid relationships

• Has the ability to get opinions and ideas across with enthusiasm and influence
