Documentation Developer

Kongsberg Discovery develops and delivers world class connected sensors and smart robotics for Marine, Research and Naval applications. The division has the responsibility for KD's leading offering of Underwater Mapping systems, Underwater Positioning, Marine Robotics, Fishery and Naval Sensors, Precision Positioning and Sensing Solutions.

In this role, you will be a part of the Manufacturing Technology Department delivering Manufacturing Processes, Tooling, Solutions, Tests and of course Documentation to support our manufacturing departments. As our Documentation Developer you are responsible for coordinating documentation activities with cross-functional teams including R&D project managers, manufacturing engineers and manufacturing operators. You will also be responsible for creating and maintaining documentation related to our manufacturing processes. This may include procedures, work instructions, production plans, and other documents that are essential for ensuring the quality and consistency of the manufacturing process. You will work closely with experts in many areas, and act as an editor compiling easy-to-understand, modern looking work instructions for both experienced and newly trained operators.

Key accountabilities

• Coordinate documentation activities from eQMS and DevOps
• Develop and revise manufacturing procedures and work instructions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine manufacturing procedures
• Ensure that the documentation is consistent with industry standards and regulatory requirements
• Maintain manufacturing documentation. This includes ensuring that documents are properly version controlled, easily accessible, and up to date
• Identify opportunities to improve the manufacturing process through documentation

Qualifications and experience

• A bachelor's degree technical college in a relevant field such as engineering, manufacturing, or technical writing is preferred.
• Experience and knowledge about manufacturing or relevant areas can compensate for formal education.
• Technical writing skills for creating clear, concise, and accurate documentation is preferable
• Experience working with engineers, quality assurance professionals, and manufacturing personnel
