Fred. Olsen Renewables is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Data Engineer to join our Finance Team. As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our analytics capabilities and driving data-driven decision-making.

Main Work tasks will be:

• Lead our efforts to reshape the companies’ data architecture, with an initial focus on financial metrics, operational data, and real-time power market information
• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric solutions, like Synapse and Data Factory
• Collaborate with the CFO, Controllers, Analysts, and other team members to define how data should be used and contribute to data-driven decision-making processes
• Team up with the data engineer in the Operations Team and technical experts in Fred. Olsen & Co to improve the efficiency, organization, and centralization of our existing data infrastructure

Qualifications we look for:

• Higher education in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Previous experience as a Data Engineer, preferably in the Finance domain
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric tools, including Synapse Data Engineering, Data Factory and Power BI
• Proficiency in Python programming and Structured Query Language (SQL), experience with PySpark is a plus
• Experience with Lakehouse and Medallion architecture
• Experience with Data Modelling, creating robust and efficient dimensional models for analysis and reporting
• Experience with time series data, API’s, and operational data (such as SCADA) is a plus
• Familiarity with Git for version control, as well as DevOps practices and principles is a plus
• Understanding of information security regulations and compliance, especially in the renewable energy sector, is also a plus
