System Engineer for Storage and Backup

Our Data Center department is looking for a passionate System Engineer for our Storage and Backup area.

You must have a drive to develop high quality processes that will run in an unusually complex technical environment. You will be a member of a highly skilled infrastructure team, where your abilities and contributions to manage our infrastructure, both in the datacenters and cloud, will be very visible. You must love to help team members and to receive help from them. The team is international so you will use English both written and orally. Key responsibilities 

• Work primarily with storage, backup and restore tools in all our datacenters and in clouds but also show interest and be curious about other aspects of storage and data protection.

• Effectively manage the performance and capacity of the storage, backup and recovery platforms to meet or exceed business SLA’s.

• Creates standard reports and conducts daily Backup Management reviews such as reporting, monitoring, escalation and resolution processes in order to maintain overall operational effectiveness and to assess system performance metrics.

• Actively contribute to further development of the Infrastructure in cooperation with the System Manager of the Storage and Data Protection (Backup) Area.

• Installing and maintaining physical resources used for our systems

• Ensure Data Center security and monitor the systems that are overlooking power and cooling

• Participate in the Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning and testing

• Manage and optimise the Data Centre infrastructure for reliability and scalability

• Collaborate with other departments for planning expansions and upgrades

• Collaborate with the External Hardware vendors for support
  
  

Who we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (In lieu of degree, 3 years relevant work experience)

• In depth knowledge of storage and backup related processes, research and performance analysis capabilities.

• Previous experience with tools like Pure, Rubrik, Veeam, IBM Cloud Object Storage System is a plus.

• PowerShell/Terraform Scripting - an advantage

• Passion for new technologies is a plus

• Knowledge of infrastructure components such as virtualization, data storage and backup systems and networking.

• Effectively cope with change; comfortably adjust to alterations in work activities; able to decide and act with limited information; effectively handle risk and uncertainty in ambiguous situations

• Demonstrated resilience, diplomacy, influence, relationship building, and problem solving skills in a variety of situations

• Highly effective written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and experience dealing effectively with a wide range of people

• Careful and detailed approach to safety-related testing and documentation.

• Fluency in Business English is required

• Customer oriented behaviour

• Fast learner - research capabilities for obtaining required information.
