Nel Hydrogen is experiencing substantial growth, and we are now searching for a motivated and skilled Safety Engineer to strengthen our capacity within process and product design safety requirements.

The person we are looking for will play a crucial part in ensuring that Nel's equipment and process designs meet the highest standards and customer requirements. The position reports to the Head of Module Engineering

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Ensure that Nel’s Process and Product design follow relevant safety requirements
  • Perform technical safety analyses and assessments
  • Establish and update technical safety related documentation and best practices
  • Represent the technical safety discipline in tenders, FEEDs and project execution
  • Contribute to competence building, continuous improvements, and best practice within technical safety
  • Contribute or facilitate process safety and risk assessments, safety reviews (HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA)
  • RAM analysis, environmental budget/BAT evaluation, HSE in design, regulatory compliance
  • Prepare, review and/or approve technical safety documentation

Key qualifications

  • B.Sc./MSc in relevant engineering discipline, a specialization in technical safety, risk and reliability would be an advantage. Relevant experience can compensate for lack of formal education
  • 10+ years of relevant working experience
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written. Good Norwegian skills would be an advantage

Work location: The position can be based in Oslo, Trondheim, Kristiansand or Notodden.
