Software Security Specialist

As an Software Security Specialist in Hydro, you will play a crucial role in securing our industrial control systems with a primary focus on safeguarding in-house developed industrial applications and MES systems. Your responsibilities will extend to securing virtual environments and employing cutting-edge technologies, including container platforms such as Kubernetes, Advanced Security Monitoring, as well as more traditional infrastructure.

Your role will involve staying on top of emerging threats and trends in application security, allowing you to implement proactive measures to safeguard our applications against evolving risks, in addition to identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities. You will take part in building principles and governance for our internal DevSecOps teams. This includes implementing both new products and work methodologies.

In this role you will be a part of the Cybersecurity Organization, collaborating closely with Application Development teams in the organization integrating security seamlessly into the CICD pipelines. You will be coordinating with security champions embedded within development teams to foster a culture of security awareness and proactive risk mitigation.

Work location: Årdal or Oslo. Some business travel is required.

Desired competencies

• A degree in computer science or something similar, advantageous if you have knowledge within cyber security.
• Experience with DevSecOps and making sure apps are secure, especially if you've worked with Kubernetes and containers.
• The ability to speak and understand both Norwegian and English well. If you know more languages such as Portoguese, that's a bonus.
• Some knowledge about the security needs of industrial control systems.
• The ability to get along with different kinds of people and work together as a team.
