We are looking for Senior Heat Trace Engineers who can strengthen our Electrical department in Oslo. You will contribute to Aibel’s exciting journey in the ongoing energy transition. Our portfolio covers manned and unmanned operated Oil and Gas topsides, High Voltage substations (HVAC or HVDC), Electrification projects and hydrogen facilities.

About the position

Join Aibel as an Electrical Engineer and contribute to innovative electrical system solutions for engineering projects. You’ll be involved in all phases, from concept to detail. Your tasks will vary depending on the project, but may typically include designing heat trace for Study, FEED or EPC projects. You’ll develop and assist in the design of heat tracing philosophy, specifying solutions and strategies to meet client requirements. Your role will also involve the calculation, selection, and follow-up of heat trace cable design. Be a part of Aibel, where your expertise is valued and your professional growth is nurtured.

Responsibilities and tasks include

  • Follow-up and design heat trace requirement according to P&ID’s and project solutions
  • Handling of technical questions from installation team
  • Input, update and maintain heat trace engineering register information
  • Topping up heat trace MTO’s
  • Participate in meetings between fabrication and engineering
  • Interface with other disciplines
  • Participate and contribute to digitalization processes to help secure improvements in working method

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or Technical College combined with minimum 12 years’ relevant Norwegian Continental Shelf experience
  • Minimum 6 years' experience with electrical heat trace design, preferably within O&G projects on the Norwegian continental shelf, the OW sector or onshore facilities
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with generation of heat trace ISO’s from Aveva E3D
  • Experience and thorough knowledge of electrical design according to relevant standards such as NORSOK, ATEX, PTIL, ISO, DNV and IEC
  • Seek cost-effective solutions adopted to the relevant application
