NAVTOR is growing and we are looking for one more Project Manager to join our Project Management Office (PMO) in our HQ in Egersund. We are looking for someone who can use their skills and expertise to manage and coordinate multiple agile software development projects. You will be working according to our project management process, but will need to be flexible during development to accommodate different products, teams and locations. You will be working closely with product management and development teams located globally, and support them in planning and managing projects, continuing NAVTORs success story.

In NAVTOR, you will be joining an international team of highly talented people with passionate interest in building seamless, secure and integrated solutions for smarter e-Navigation and optimal vessel performance for the maritime industry. NAVTOR is a leading company in its field, and actively partake in producing innovative solutions to help decarbonization of shipping. At NAVTOR you will be able to work on a large variety of projects in all four of our business units: e-navigation, performance, analytics and OEM, offering you a rewarding and diverse workday.

The position is a full-time, permanent position reporting to the PMO-manager. You will be in a team of five project managers within R&D, for a local company with a strong global presence.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Responsible for planning, management, follow-up and reporting on multiple agile software development projects from initiation to closure.
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress.
  • Coordinate and manage team/product/project dependencies in your projects
  • Manage issues and risk factors according to defined procedures to ensure cost-effective and prompt resolution of issues.
  • Ensure completion within agreed budget and time and proper handover of project deliverables
  • Ensure communication related to the planning and follow-up of the project with internal and external stakeholders
  • Managing relationships with resource owners and project managers
  • Work with others throughout the organization to align product & system development with corporate goals and objectives
  • Participate in continuous process redesign to build a high performing culture of consistent and profiterable delivery of projects.


  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience with agile project management. Project management certification is an advantage
  • Relevant education at BSc or higher level
  • Background from maritime or software development sector would be positive
  • Good understanding of technology and software systems
  • Excellent verbal/written communications skills with ability to translate between the business and technical lingo.
  • Experience with working in international teams
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team
  • Ability to motivate your team and delegate tasks
  • Identify solutions and make decision based on the project goals and budget
